Franciscan Holy Land Pilgrimage
Join us on our most popular pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Jordan. You’ll meet your tour group in Tel Aviv. The next morning, drive up the Mediterranean coast to Mt. Carmel, Mt. Tabor and then Tiberias which will be our base in Galilee for the next few days. During this time, we will visit the spot of the Transfiguration, Capernaum, Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes, and the site of Christ’s Sermon on the Mt. of the Beatitudes. Couples will be able to renew their wedding vows in Cana and we’ll enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
On Day 5, depart for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Visit Mt. Nebo where Moses first viewed the Promised Land on the way to Amman. Travel to Wadi Rum and explore the beautiful and dramatic desert landscape. Spend the night there and enjoy a breath-taking, jeep tour through this desert at sunset. The next stop is Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World!
From Petra, we will travel to Jerusalem, stopping in the ancient city of Jericho and the Jordan River to renew our Baptismal Promises on the way. Our final three days will be spent in Jerusalem and will include an afternoon at the Dead Sea for an opportunity to float in the mineral-rich water. We’ll visit the Chapel of the Ascension and the Church of the Pater Noster on the summit of the Mount of Olives, with a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Walk in the Garden of Gethsemane and see the Basilica of the Agony. Touch the spot where Jesus was born within the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and see the birthplace of John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation in Ein Karem. Walk in the footsteps of Jesus on the Way of the Cross, following the Via Dolorosa to visit Golgotha inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and venerate the Tomb of Jesus.
